Your Display, Set Up & Playing in About 15 Minutes
Step-by-step setup for your SeenLabs indoor digital signage display — from first power-on to putting your own content on the screen and keeping it running on a schedule.
How will you update your content?
01Before You Start
Three things worth knowing before the display goes on the wall.
Mounting: the display must be installed and secured by a professional. Make sure every edge is supported and the mount is rated for the display's weight.
Power: use a grounded outlet and keep the power cord out of walkways. Don't defeat the grounding pin on the plug.
If it arrived cold: a display moved from a cold truck into a warm room can form condensation inside. Let it sit unplugged for a couple of hours before the first power-on.
Keep in mind
This is an indoor display. Keep it away from rain, moisture, radiators, and blocked ventilation. Unplug it before cleaning, and wipe the screen with a soft dry cloth only — no sprays or solvents.
02Know Your Ports
All connections are on the back panel. Unplug the power cord before connecting or disconnecting anything.

03The Remote
You'll mostly use the navigation ring, OK, and EXIT. Point it at the lower edge of the screen.

04First Power-On
Connect the power cord to the inlet (1) and a grounded outlet.
Flip the power switch (2) on the back panel.
Wait about a minute while the player starts.
If the screen is new and has no content loaded yet, you'll see this blue standby screen — that's normal. It means the display is working and waiting for its first program.

05Player Settings & Wi-Fi
The settings menu is where you'll set schedules, brightness, and network — worth finding once.
Open the player settings
Plug a USB mouse into one of the USB ports and click the top-left corner of the screen 3–4 times in a row. The settings menu opens:

Join your network
Needed for updating content from your phone and for remote management. (Updating by USB drive works without any network.)
Open Network settings.
Choose Wireless network, pick your Wi-Fi, and enter the password. (Or plug an Ethernet cable into the LAN port and use Wired network.)
Set your time zone too
While you're in settings, open Advanced options → Date and time and set your local US time zone. Displays ship with an overseas time zone, and the on/off schedules in Step 07 follow the device clock.
06Load Your Content
Pick whichever way fits how you work — files play on a loop automatically either way.
Method A — From your phone
Recommended
Best for day-to-day updates: build the layout on your phone and send it to the screen over Wi-Fi.
Install the LedArt app (free on the App Store and Google Play).
In the player settings, open System mode and make sure it's set to Stand-alone.
Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the display. No shared Wi-Fi at the location? In player settings, turn on Wi-Fi hotspot and join the display's own hotspot from your phone (default password 88888888).
Open LedArt — the display appears under My device.
Create a program, add your photos and videos, and tap Send. The screen updates in seconds.
LedArt also works as a remote: brightness, volume, on/off — from your phone
Method B — USB flash drive
No network needed
Best for one-time loads or locations without Wi-Fi. The folder structure matters — the player looks for it by name.
Use a USB drive formatted as FAT32 (most drives up to 32 GB already are).
Create this folder structure and copy your files into the inner folder:

In the player settings, confirm System mode is Stand-alone.
Insert the drive into a USB port on the back. The player copies the files to its internal memory and starts playing.
Once playback starts, you can remove the drive — the content is stored on the display.
Tip
Files play in alphabetical order. To control the sequence, prefix the names: 01-menu.jpg, 02-promo.mp4. Each image shows for 5 seconds by default.
Method C — Let SeenLabs manage it
If you'd rather never think about updates: we manage your screens remotely — content changes, scheduled campaigns, and uptime monitoring across one location or fifty. Especially handy once you have more than a couple of displays.
Five minutes in the settings menu and the display runs itself. All of these live in the player settings (Step 05).
Auto on/off schedule
Open System control → Switch machine settings and add your business hours — for example on at 7:55 AM, off at 9:05 PM. You can set different times per day of the week.
Brightness by time of day
Open System control → Brightness setting, switch the mode to Customize, and add time slots — e.g. 100% during the day, 60% after 6 PM. Softer evening brightness is easier on the eyes and on the panel.
Portrait or landscape
If the display is mounted vertically, open Advanced options → Screen rotation and pick 90° or 270°. The player restarts automatically.
Worth doing in a public space
In Advanced options → Control password, set a password on the settings menu so customers (or curious staff) can't change anything with a stray mouse click.
08Content That Looks Right
What
Use this
Video
MP4 (H.264). 1080p is the sweet spot.
Images
JPG or PNG.
Size
Match your screen: 1920×1080 for landscape, 1080×1920 for portrait mounting. Content in the wrong orientation gets stretched.
Text in designs
Keep it big. A rule of thumb for storefronts: if you can't read it from 15 feet on your phone preview, it's too small.
09Troubleshooting
Symptom
Try this
Screen is completely dark
Check the back-panel power switch and the outlet. Then check the on/off schedule (Step 07) — the display may simply be inside its "off" hours. Press Power on the remote.
Blue "no programs" screen
The display has no content. Send a program via the app or USB drive (Step 06).
USB drive does nothing
Confirm the drive is FAT32, the folder path is exactly Playtask/1/1/, and the files are MP4/JPG/PNG. Try the other USB port.
App can't find the display
Phone and display must be on the same Wi-Fi network — or join the display's own hotspot. Check Network settings on the display.
Old content keeps playing
In player settings, run Clear program, then send your new program again.
No sound
Check Mute and volume on the remote, then the volume schedule under System control → Volume setting.
Before you factory-reset
Please don't. A reset wipes settings we pre-configured for you. If nothing above helps, contact us first — most issues are a two-minute fix.
